PACK EXPO International 2004
- One of the challenges faced when hand-coding this Web site was ensuring clear communication between the creative and digital strategy departments. I had to work closely with the creative department collaborating on all aspects of the project. Another challenge was finding a drop-down menu that worked across various browsers while also being easy for the client to edit and update themselves.
-
PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2005
- Using the 2004 Web site as a foundation, we improved many aspects of the 2005 version. The challenge I faced was updating the drop-down menu with an updated version and ensuring it would be easy for the client to edit.
PACK EXPO International 2006
- A new challenge brought to this project was the integration of a Flash-based menu and masthead. While I hand-coded the Web site my co-worker created all Flash-based components. Bringing everything together, I had to test and confirm that all Flash components worked flawlessly in various browsers. Another huge challenge was creating international Web pages in different languages—such as Japanese, Portuguese, and Russian.
PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2007
- The client this year requested only HTML templates for each main section of the Web site and they would create the rest of the Web site internally. A challenge was hand-coding each template with clear notations and instructions so the client could easily create Web pages from the templates. The CSS style sheets had to include clear notations and instructions as well. Communication with the client was key to ensure they would have no problems in finishing the Web site.
Kellysearch
- I had the opportunity to collaborate closely with the creative department on the design this microsite.
TetraPak USA
- My role on this Web site was maintaining and updating various sections and ensuring consistency across the entire site. In particular, I was in charge of updating the Case Studies section with artwork and new Web pages as needed.

ECC Fifth Night Celebration
- Working closely with the designer, this microsite was created under a tight deadline. There were countless pop-up windows that had to be coded. I included the use of sIFR in all main headlines of the Web site as a design element. The challenge was to keep all the pop-up windows consistent in design and functionality.

OFB | Travelport
- A banner ad clicks through to this landing page which collects data from the visitor and the challenge was maintaining consistency among all pages—landing page, confirmation page and thank you page—for each banner ad campaign. Usability of the form and form fields validation were challenges I faced with this project.

Paycycle
- For this Web site, I had to hand-code all the templates for each main section and include clear notations within the HTML and CSS code. Another challenge was finding an accessible toggle menu for the right-hand side that would be easy for the client to edit and update.

NEC Omnifunction Display
- An entirely Flash-based microsite was created to showcase a new type of display monitor. A challenge I faced was to maintain consistency throughout each section of the microsite even though there were various people working on different areas of the project.

E-mails and Newsletters
ECC Fifth Night Celebration
- Along with the ECC Fifth Night Celebration microsite, I also had to create an HTML e-mail under a tight deadline that was consistent in look and functionality of the microsite. Although I could not include the use of Flash-based headlines, everything in the e-mail had to match the microsite.
BMAIL
- Every month I was in charge of hand-coding the monthly newsletter for the BMA/Chicago association under a very tight deadline. Working closely with the creative department, I created the newsletter and all accompanying Web pages on the BMA/Chicago Web site. I was also in charge of maintaining the ExactTarget e-mail marketing software used to send out the e-mail.
Paycycle
- Working closely with the creative department, I hand-coded two HTML e-mails that had to be consistent with the design and functionality of the Web site.

PACK EXPO
- The various e-mails that were sent out for the PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2007 trade show all had to be consistent in design and functionality with the Web site. I have chosen three to showcase here.

Banner Ads: Flash
Underwriters Laboratories
- There were many challenges in creating these Flash-based banner ads. The first two banner ads expand open to show more information and offer the user a form to download a white paper. The second two do not expand but make great use of the limited space available to capture the user's attention and offer a white paper.
Please ensure you have Adobe Flash Player installed before viewing this project.

Tellabs
- The challenge I faced in this banner ad was showing a large Ethernet cable that 'zoomed out 'into a Ethernet wire character without inflating the size of the swf file by having such a large image in the actual banner ad.
Please ensure you have Adobe Flash Player installed before viewing this project.
-
TetraPak
- These banners also brought the challenge of keeping file size down while maintaining rich color and clarity of the product imagery. The solution was having the images load externally to cut down on file size.
